At Quicksilver Ranch, miniature horses are raised. The ranch is located at 1555 Alamo Pintado Road, Solvang, CA 93463. The road is just east of Solvang; turn north from route 246; and the ranch is on the west side of the road. See their web page. Miniature horses are sold for US$ 6000 and up.
Mission Santa Ynez (old Spanish spelling: Inés) was founded in 1804. In its heyday it exported 6000 bushels of wheat annually, plus other crops and cattle. The Mexican government confiscated its revenue stream in 1834, but it continued to function as a church on a limited scale. The buildings were restored starting in 1904.
